Scabies Rash
Scabies is a contagious skin infection which is caused by the infestation of mites on human skin. The mites come from the species of “Sarcoptes Scabie” which infected the human skin for more than two thousand years. These mites are parasites and cant last without the human host for more than three days. However, they can live longer, lasting even for a month when they already find refuge on human.
A contagious disease indeed, this creates an intense itchy skin condition within the area where the mites burrow. The itchiness become so intense during night time especially when people affected is at rest, thus creating a tendency to scratch the affected area. This feeling also causes stress which somehow magnifies the disease.
Scabies can be easily transferred from one person to another. This can spread so fast through skin contacts in a group like family, classmates, and common companions and even at the hospitals and any other places. As long as you have contacts with person infected by this skin disease, you are not safe enough and assured that you can not be contaminated with the infection. Remember that the mites can be transferred from one persons skin to another by touching and even through the nails of the infected person. In fact even sometimes the beddings or towels can be the medium of contaminating the disease. As mentioned above, the mites can still live for three days without human host therefore it is not safe to use the beddings, towels and any other things being used by the person with scabies.
For the above reason, medications always cover the entire group or family as for sure once any person become exposed to the person infected by scabies the risk of having one is very high. Yes it may be contagious but it is not something to be scared of as there are many treatments already discovered in the medical field. By the way, this disease can not be avoided despite of high personal hygiene and can affect every one whether you are living luxuriously or in any state way of living.
Just like any other disease, an early detection is always important. So be very cautious about the common symptom of itching especially during nighttime. This irritating itching cause further tiny red bumps tiny bites or pimples. In worst cases skin may appear so scaly and dry. This is commonly found in skin folds that are not normally exposed like buttocks, around the nipples and even on the penis. This can also be found between the fingers, toes or under the nails. It is always safe to consult the medical specialist at once to prevent further contamination.
Having scabies may be a problem but not a major one because this can be treated. Although the medication may take longer so you just have to be very patient and be careful. Most importantly you have to learn how to manage the manifestation so quickly.
