If you have, then you might be feeding the bed bugs. One of readers got the same problem. Check out what she inquired with us on her own words.

I just moved into a new apartment and started getting bitten by some kind of bug. I have not seen anything, only the bites! I have no pets, but I’ve sprayed for fleas twice. Still getting bit tho. What should I do?

Another of our reader responded:

If it was fleas you’d know cause it would be a red area and itchy the next day, and also fleas where I live (Washington) are solid black and easy to see and it would only be a week or so before your house was crawling with them.

Bed bug bites are different from other insect bites. You have to know how to identify them apart from other biting so you will know the appropriate treatment.

Apart from probably being the worst effect of bed bug infestation, bed bug bites are also a warning. If you have them, that just means you have to conduct an immediate inspection. If the presence of the pests are confirmed you have to quickly follow up a bed bug treatment. That is basically the only way for you to prevent future bed bug bites.

If you don’t want to be the next one scratching, you have to know how to get rid of bed bugs effectively.

Bed bugs are known to produce several ill effects. Though a number of those effects are more of a nuisance than serious threats, still they all bring negative things and therefore must be prevented. Probably the worst of all those effects and that really must be avoided are the bites of the pests.

Bed bugs’ bites though are not known to be dangerous to human health unlike the bites of other pests. They can cause skin itchiness and welts but not serious diseases. They are not known to transfer illnesses.

However, the allergic reaction that they can trigger can be annoying. Though the skin itch and swelling can differ from person to person, all in all they can cause a great deal of irritation. And because of that, you really must prevent being bitten.

The basic and most effective way to do that is to get rid of bed bugs themselves. If you can eliminate them completely, you will be free of any possibility of being bitten along with the pests? other effects. The problem though is that you can never really say that your home will always be free of the said pests. So basically, whether or not you know that they are already living with you, you have to do something to protect yourself.

Among those that you can do are the following.

Always check your bed. Look into the mattress and the seams of your sheets and comforter. The headboard too must be looked into as the pests can also be living or hiding in it.

If you are traveling, check your room before settling. Particularly check the bed. Furnishings surrounding it must also be inspected. It will be also wise not to get your luggage inside until you have made sure that no bugs are present in your room as this helps in preventing from being brought back to your house.

Be watchful of the pests’ signs of infestation. To determine the symptoms early on will sure keep you from being bitten by them. More than that, it can also save your home from more of the damages that they can cause.

Remember that they usually bite at night and that their bites are painless. And so, do not think that just because you can’t see them or feel they are biting that they are not present.

If you are to kill bed bugs, you can keep yourself protected from their bites and other ill effects. To strengthen your protection against them, implement the given steps.

Additionally, you have to pick well the solution you will be using. Choose a bed bug killer that is not only effective but also safe. And among the many in the market, a green bed bug spray is the best that you can purchase.

So if you are to travel, take precautions to not come in contact with them. And even if you think haven’t been near anywhere where they could be nesting, don’t lay down your defenses. Always be alert as they are good with hiding.

It is important to know what bed bugs look like so that you may correctly identify them if you see any. They are brownish red in color and they are small, flat and round, but not too small that you cannot see them. Bed Bugs feast on human and animal blood in order to survive and it is the only thing they are looking for. They will attach themselves to a viable host and suck the skin until their entire body inflates with blood causing them to plump up and turn completely red. You can see the blood right through their skin once they have ingested it. They are similar to a tick, or a flea, but unlike ticks, they usually won’t stay attached onto their host for very long. They will bite, suck and then move on. They leave behind red itchy welts that will usually heal in a couple of days. Since they are relatively small, their bite is not very big. As far as the bite itself, it is usually painless as well as harmless. If anything, the person who experiences a bed bug bite is more traumatized emotionally than anything else.

They like to hide out in cracks, crevices, creases, and seams, which can make them hard to find but not hard to see. Since they are good at being undetected, it has allowed them to spread and lately there has been increasing reports of bed bug bites in the US. Travelers do not realize that the bugs have found their way into their luggage and this tends to be the number one reason people carry them along onto their next destination, whether it be home, another hotel, or a family member or friends house.

The best and most effective way to avoid getting bed bug bites is to invest in a bed bug mattress cover. They are specifically designed to keep bed bugs sealed up inside the mattress and are even bite proof. This is a good idea if you anticipate traveling anywhere no matter how short the trip may be. You never know where you may find them.

These types of covers are only effective provided they are used correctly. They have to cover and seal the entire mattress making sure you do not leave the zipper open at all. it must be kept zipped while in use on a mattress. This is recommended for travel only to use on beds that are unfamiliar to you. It is not a permanent solution and therefore would not be a good idea to use them if you have bed bugs in your home. That will require a different course of action and this information is only intended for those traveling. It is also important that you clean these covers in between uses, making sure that any bed bugs trapped inside be properly exterminated and disposed of.

You have to wash the covers in very hot water or you can put the cover in a sealed plastic bag and store it in the freezer. Any bed bugs trapped inside will freeze and die, then you can simply unzip the cover and easily dispose of the dead bugs the following day. Make sure this is done between uses. Both the heat from hot water or the cold from the freezer will definitely kill bedbugs.

Sprays are also available which you can buy and use in addition to the mattress cover in order to help keep bed bugs off of you while you are asleep. Select a spray that will not irritate your skin if at all possible and check with your local outdoor gear or camping store, they should carry this product. A quite effective way to avoid any bed bug bites is to have both the mattress cover and the spray in use while sleeping in any unfamiliar bed such as in a hotel room.

The only way to prevent any bed bug bite is to to never allow them the chance to bite you in the first place. But there could be a time when you just happen to stumble across them and it is best for you to be prepared. Always carry the items mentioned above with you while traveling. It’s your surest bet against getting bed bug bites.

It pays off to be very cautious of bed bugs even when traveling. It can help protect your items and even your possessions back at home. More importantly, it can help you keep away from their nasty bites.

Watch the video below to remind yourself why you have to keep away from bed bugs.

Tea bags play a major role in the healing of wounds and sunburns on the skin. A few wet tea bags when applied on the wounds and sunburns lessen the pain. Tea bags containing aloe in it are usually preferred. The tea bags should be placed into a cool bath and should be soaked for a while for the soothening, healing of the wounds. Aloe Tea bags do include the combination of aloe honey tea and aloe green tea. Warm tea bags are placed on the irritated skin to heal the sunburn and lessen the pain caused due to the excess itching sensation. They are used to avoid the crackling and peeling of the skin. If the formation of the cracks is quite intense then the tea bags would remove the cracks gradually. During the breastfeeding period, formation of cracks become intense and painful at times and so women are advised to place warm tea bags on the breast to get rid of the cracks formed.

The pain also decreases gradually due to the mild heat produced from the tea bags. Smelly feet, infections, razor burns, mosquito bites and bug bites can also be cured using tea bags by placing them on the affected areas. Swelling is reduced and no infections occur when tea bag treatment is done immediately. Cold sores are also treated by placing warm tea bags on the sore for at least half an hour a day. Eyes are also refreshed by placing tea bags on them and toothache is also lessened by placing a tea bag that is soaked in cold water.
