Greater Syracuse Tenants Network will hold a bed bug workshop for landlords this 11^th. This is to educate landlords on killing bed bugs and kicking the crawlers completely out from an apartment.

Syracuse is trying to convince both the landlords and tenants to help each other fight the creepy crawlers. The Syracuse Tenants Network said that many calls they are receiving since the last two years are from tenants complaining about bed bugs. The cost of an exterminator which goes up to $1500 could even be higher than the rent which only ranges from $500-$600.

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) — It’s a small bug creating a big problem here in Central New York, especially in Syracuse. Bed bugs seem to be grabbing hold on the north side of the city, leaving both landlords and tenants looking at labor intensive and expensive extermination projects.

Syracuse is trying to get both landlords and tenants to work together to combat the problem and keep the bugs away for good.

They can be the size of a speck of dirt, but the damage bed bugs do is much bigger.

Twenty landlords in need of help from the Syracuse Tenants Network have registered for an upcoming bed bug workshop.

The Tenant Network says this problem has really exploded in Syracuse over just the last two years. And since January, it says about 20 percent of the calls it gets are from tenants concerned about bed bugs.

East Chicago, Ind. – Bed bugs have taken over a public housing complex for senior citizens in East Chicago.

Residents of the John Nicosia Housing Complex packed a meeting on Wednesday night, complaining that the bed bug problem popped up eight months ago. Now, 98 percent of the apartments inspected by the East Chicago Health Department ware infested with bed bugs, and the health department has not yet hired an exterminator.

Residents say the bed bug problem started in one unit and quickly spread.

“It was allowed to perpetuate. About eight months ago, I spoke with a manager about the first case I heard about to my knowledge and I asked her to get it under control. Nothing happened,” said resident Sherlene Lowe.

Now the bed bug problem is out of control, with residents taking cell phone videos of bed bugs and showing off red welts on their arms.

Residents said the infestation happened because some were scared to report the issue for fear of being billed hundreds of dollars for extermination services.

These past few years, bed bug infestation has been causing havoc. There were many reports about the pests invading homes, hospitals, hotels and even libraries. And just recently, their invasion has caused a fire in an Ohio home.

Technically, it was not the bed bugs that directly burned the house. It was the bed bug treatment that was executed by an exterminator.

The exterminator basically used heat to kill bed bugs. To raise the temperature in the house, he used six heaters, and he said that one of them malfunctioned. It caught the carpet and a fire soon started, which was not immediately detected.

Because of machine malfunction, all the bed bugs were killed. However, never was it a good thing as it burned down the whole house. It made the price of bed bug elimination much higher than it should be as two families lost their home because of it.

Fire officials in Cincinnati say a two-family home was destroyed when a heater being used to kill bedbugs set a carpet on fire.

The house was being treated Sunday by an exterminator who says he gets rid of the pests by raising a home’s temperature to 135 degrees using propane heaters. Residents are told to leave and remove anything flammable.

Cincinnati Fire District Chief Glenn Coleman says the carpet was ignited by one of six heaters inside the home. The fire went undetected until a neighbor saw smoke pouring from the house.

The exterminator, Richard Tyree, blames an equipment malfunction for the fire and tells The Cincinnati Enquirer he’s never had a problem before. He says his company has insurance.

Your solution may be as simple as fresh lemons. Lemons and their juices have been used to fade scarring, age spots and freckles. I guess you could go the cheaper route and use the real lemon concentrate stuff in the bottle or just get a bag of three or lemons cut a slice off three or four times a day and rub it on the area.
Most over-the-counter remedies are just industrial waste that has been refined so that you’ll buy it and get rid of it for the big corps. Lemons might be your answer here.
There are a few places to look for natural remedies that involve hemp. Hemp is a legal, 100% thc free product. Micro-plant is high in natural silica that may also reduce the appearance of scarring. The natural way is usually the best way to go.
