Nationally though, bed-bug-related complaints have increased. Sioux Falls in South Dakota is one of the cities experiencing the rise in bed bug cases. And though the vampire-like pests are mostly found in residences, reports have it that they were also seen in the backpacks of the city’s students.

And though the vampire-like pests are mostly found in residences, reports have it that they were also seen in the backpacks of the city’s students.

To address the problem, Sioux Fall’s Health Department is spreading awareness about the pests. It also provides guidelines as how to prevent bed bug infestation. The city’s Program Coordinator, Denise Patton, even warned residents to not be fooled by the pests’ name. Though they are named as “bed bugs”, they can actually infest even appliances, walls and almost anything, she said.

However, despite being discovered in students’ backpacks, Patton added that schools are not likely to get infested. But given that bed bugs are small, are quick to hide and hitchhike and are lovers of high-traffic places, are schools really safe from their presence?

===================

The Sioux Falls Health Department has received reports of bed bugs being found in a Sioux Falls school on kids’ backpacks.

Just in the last year, more cases of bed bugs have been reported all over the city, keeping exterminators busier than ever. The health department has been responding by creating more awareness about preventing the problem before it starts.

“A bed bug can find its way anywhere,” SF Health Program Coordinator Denise Patton said.

It placed at number nine. However, things are looking up for New Yorkers. Panic over bed bugs and even the number of bed bug cases reportedly went down this year.

Based on the Department of Housing, Preservation and Development’s record, complaints about bed bug infestation in the city decreased by 12 percent this fiscal year. From 10 241 last year, the complaints went down to 9 029 this year. Even bed bug complaints against landlords jumped down this year for 19 percent numbering from 3 3559 to 2 893. Calls regarding bed bugs also decreased by 17 percent with last years’ 8 736 falling to 7 245.

Despite the decline in bed bug cases though, the fact that many Big Apple residents still suffer from the blood-fed pests remains. However, based on their calls, residents are now calmer and more accepting about bed bug incidents said Natalie Raben of one New York remediation firm.

Bedbugs taking over New York City? Scratch that.

Make no mistake, the irritating little critters are still crawling all over the place. But new numbers obtained by NBC New York suggest the panic has subsided and the battle against the blood-sucking critters is headed in the right direction.

Complaints to the city’s Department of Housing, Preservation and Development are down 12 percent, from 9,029 in this fiscal year to date, compared with 10,241 for the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Reported or not though, one thing for sure is that it causes so many troubles. One, in particular, is causing a rift between a tenant and a landlord. And, probably the latest example of it is the one that took place in Royal Palm Beach.

Gina Eubanks is a tenant in one of the Royal Palm Beach apartments. This New Year’s weekend though she will have to spend in a motel. And that’s all thanks, or should I say no thanks, to the crawling, blood-sucking bed bugs.

While staying in a motel, Gina’s apartment is being treated with high heat to kill bed bugs. However, she refuses to pay for the treatment expenses. Stating that the bed bugs were already there when she moved in August, she said she doesn’t think it’s right that she holds responsible for the extermination.

On the other hand, the landlord has not yet revealed his side.

Palm Beach County woman is fighting bed bugs … and now her landlord as a result.

Gina Eubanks is spending this New Year’s weekend in a motel, her clothing stuffed in bags and her entire apartment being attacked with high heat, all to get rid of the pesky, biting bedbugs, WPBF 25 News’ Terri Parker reported.

But she said her landlord knew these bugs were here before she moved in, so why should she pay for all of this expense?

“I had to throw my bed out,” Eubanks told Parker on Friday.

Eubanks said she moved in in August, and Parker on Friday spoke to the previous renter, who confirmed that she, too, had bedbugs.

======================

There are more to bed bugs than meets the eyes. They may look small but they can cause a lot of troubles. And so, you must eliminate them in a very effective manner or you’ll end up their meal and will have to spend big just to get rid of them.

The key to do that is to implement an immediate treatment with an effective bed bug killer. Among the bed bug sprays though, Bed Bug Bully is the best for you to use. The reason is that it is made completely of organic ingredients. Hence, it is safe apart from effective.

Keep bed bugs away. Get Bed Bug Bully today before it’s too late.

And that is something that can’t be refuted. With all the bed bug infestation and threats reported everyday, the thought that the pests are indeed back is already generally accepted. But where did they come from and why are they so difficult to eliminate?

And that is something that can’t be refuted. With all the bed bug infestation and threats reported everyday, the thought that the pests are indeed back is already generally accepted. But where did they come from and why are they so difficult to eliminate?

According to a study in North Carolina State University, the bed bugs that are plaguing the US today are imported. More specifically, the study revealed that they came from a place of warmer weather or the tropics. On the other hand, it is said that their exposure to treated bed nets and insecticides used in clothing and bedding that made them resistant to chemicals.
However a pest specialist and a biologist from UK is drawing a different conclusion from their own studies. As their finding present, they said that their bed bug problem is home grown.

=======================

Exposure to treated bed nets and linens meant that populations of bed-bugs had become resistant to the chemicals used to kill them, researchers said.

The findings could help convince pest controllers to find alternative remedies to deal with the problem.

The results were presented at the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene’s 60th annual meeting.

Since almost vanishing from homes in industrialised countries in the 1950s, populations of the common bed-bug have become re-established in these regions over the past decade or so.

======================

Bed bugs are now a major health and social concern. Almost everywhere, they are now popping and infesting. Add to that, it’s said that they also have now become resistant to chemical insecticides.

However, all hope is not gone. Despite being chemical resistant, you can still get rid of bed bugs. How? It’s with the help of organic-based bed bug killer. With it, not only can you kill the pests but you can also protect your health.

More and more people are now experiencing the bad effects of bed bug infestation. Almost every where now, the small vampire-like pests are present. They are now even invading major cities like New and Las Vegas.

Bed bugs are very annoying pests found in the modern household.

in the united states, authorities and health experts claim that bed bugs have ceased to survive after the world war of the 1940′s. But, somehow they’ve appeared back in the households during the 1990′s.

There are some factors that are supposed to have favored their reappearance. For one, travelers who come from all over world can be blamed.

A few decades back, all the bed bugs had disappeared and vanished. On the contrary, they are now multiplying in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Discomfort and uneasiness caused by these insects

Bed bugs mainly cause skin irritation. When you wake up in the morning and happen to find swollen red marks all over your body, there are chances of bed bugs to have acted upon you. They would’ve bitten you while sleeping.

These insects are very small wingless creatures crawling on the floor, walls, furniture surfaces and beds. Since they’re so tiny, you’ll hardly be able to see them with bare eyes.

Bed bugs are mostly found in crevices, very tiny cracks and small holes in furniture, walls, floors and ceiling. What’s more, they can also make your bed very heavenly and habitat and ultimately regard you as the unwelcome guest in your very own bed.

Because of this, most of you, would definitely want to kill each and every bed bug crossing your sight.

But getting rid of these bed bugs is almost as difficult as capturing them or keeping a close watch on them. Bed bugs come out of their hideouts at night time. During the day, they hide inside their places.

as a result, finding them is very hard. You know that it’s obviously much harder to keep a close watch on these tiny crawling creatures in the night.

Getting rid of bed bugs

To destroy bed bugs effectively, there are a set of checklists and guidelines that are supposed to be followed.

1. As a start, make sure whether bed bugs really live in the suspected places. Unless you’re sure about their existence, how will you be able to kill them?

2. Secondly, inspect your room carefully. Closely check the walls, the floors and the ceiling for small cracks, openings and holes that can contain these insects and serve as a place for them to hide.

3. Make sure you clean your room and the household often, paying special attention and extra care to the regions that you suspect of bed bugs. This particular measure will make sure that the Bed bugs do not thrive any longer or wish to be with you in your house

4. There are a handful of pesticides and insecticides that are recommended for effective killing of bed bugs. These pesticides and insecticides are easily available in the super market. There won’t be a need for any permit or prescription to purchase them.

But you have to know how fatal and toxic they can prove to be. They can be very effective in destroying bed bugs, but they also can accidentally kill you or the people around you if they come in contact with these pesticides and insecticides.

Most insecticides come in sprays. It is mainly because sprays are very effective in transforming the chemicals to the bed bugs’ system.

5. To destroy bed bugs effectively, it is necessary that one seeks the help of a pest control expert. They apparently know more than you when killing pests are concerned.

Pest control companies invest and spend a lot in personnel trainings, equipments and innovations to achieve the success of each and every pest control action. You may not be able to afford certain equipments.

Pest control experts destroy bed bugs in a more safe and effective way. They are much better and qualified to handle pesticides and chemicals. This enables the prevention of health risks for you and the people around you.

There are a lot of ways to get rid of bed bugs. If it’s just a minor infestation, you can use a bed bug spray to kill the pests. You can also treat the area infested by steaming or vacuuming it. However, if the infestation is too massive, the best course of action is to hire a pro bed bug exterminator. Before hiring an exterminator though, make sure that he is offering a safe elimination method.
