What Do Bed Bugs Look Like?

Your 1st Step To Get Rid of Bed Bugs!

Welcome to the Bed Bug Bully help center area. In this section I wanted to go over the most critical part of a bed bug extermination. It’s identifying the bugs that are biting you.

The most popular question I receive before clients purchase Bed Bug Bully is…

“I am not sure if I have bed bugs… what do these bed bugs look like?… how to get rid of bed bugs

I am posting real life scenario pictures and checklist to help you identify a bed bug.

Lets get a visual idea of what we are dealing with…

bedbug_upclose_2Bed bugs are flattened, brown, wingless insects approximately 1⁄4 to 3/8 inch long (5 – 9 mm).

After the bug has taken a blood meal, its color changes from brown to purplish-red. The size and shape also changes, making it appear like a different insect. Young bed bugs are nearly colorless and much smaller (1/16” or 1.6 mm), but resemble the adult in general shape.

You may also find cast skins and empty shells of bugs as they grow. After a blood meal, bed bugs deposit fecal spots (composed of digested blood) in areas adjacent to the feeding site or back at their hiding places.

Many folks were not sure if they had bed bugs, roaches or some other pest. Strangely enough, in 88% of bed bug cases. Not only do you have bed bugs, you could very well have roaches or other pests in your home as well.

Knowing this common statistic, one thing we really worked hard on was…

For one, making sure Bed Bug Bully did not contain any harmful pesticides. Then we wanted to make sure not only would it kill bed bugs and the eggs, but it would kill and prevent other insects such as roaches, spiders, ants, silver fish, and of course bed bugs.

Finally, the non pesticide formula needed be reviewed by the EPA. This took some time and we finally got the formula to classified as a non pesticide formulation under FIFRA 25(b). So have no worries, whether you have a bed bug, ant, roach, spider, silver fish, carpet beetle, or some other insect.

Rest assured Bed Bug Bully will kill these pests and prevent them from coming back.

So lets see what has been biting you at night.

A Handy Check List To Identify A Bed Bug:

Bed Bugs Infestations Are Getting Larger

Over the past few years bed bugs have been on the increase, but at the same time, bat bug complaints have also occurred. Either bed bug or bat bed bugs, Bed Bug Bully and our procedures your will be receiving (if your on our list) will help you eradicate them.

Bat bugs have very long hairs along the lateral edge of the pronotum (the plate just behind the head). These hairs will be long enough to project beyond the eye (or at least longer than the eye is wide). Review the image I posted.

Bat bugs live in attics (and eaves) associated with bats and birds. Inspection and control measures can move to areas where these animals may be found.

If You See This… You Probably Have Bed Bugs

Now this is going to gross you out, but we need to face our problem head on. The reason being… the longer you let this infestation go on, the more expensive financially it will be for you and your family.

So lets check your bed mattress. Your bed mattress is where bed bugs will always strike. It will be late at night when you sleep, then in the morning you wonder why your have these bites all over your skin. After the bed bugs bite your they are so full of your blood that you could roll over on them and squish them.

When you do this, you will squish the bed bug and you will see blood stains on your mattress. I taken some pictures to show you what this may look like… bed_bug_mattress   bed_bug_fecal_spots

18 months ago we moved into a big beautiful home.
everything was fine for a while then the welts and
itchy red spots started. i had no clue what was going
on i had started a new
medication my doctor thought i was having a bad reaction to it. i dont know
what made me start looking for my own answers (maybe it was
itching for weeks with no relief) it took me only about
10 minutes to find and confirm the problem and the source !! MY 30th ANNIVERSARY GIFT !!
my beautiful antique mahogany sleigh bed !!
    it was totally infested !!
    we have tried everything
even putting it outside and sealing the wood with varnish !! we thought we had won !! but no after 4 months and a small fortune they have come back with a vvengeance. i got so angry i literally tore the bed apart and threw it in the yard !! getting to the point of my issue, the bed was purchased at a Hospice Shop, i realize they get a lot of donations but with a problem of this size they should be more aware because they are helping
the bugs to spread. i will
probably never buy another wooden antique
again !! i talked to the store and was basicly laughed at
and was told “better you than me”.its an on going battle !! this war this has been a lesson learned !!

    • Markus
